FINANCE MANAGER

Background

Global Parametrics (GP), part of the CelsiusPro Group, offers an industry-changing approach to responding to natural disasters in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs), using financial instruments and advance planning. GP is a social venture operating on commercial principles. Launched in July 2016, GP aims to redefine disaster response mechanisms, by introducing a unique business model that aims to ultimately spur market development for tailored and socially-oriented financial disaster risk management (FDRM) solutions in relation to weather and seismic exposures in LMICs. Blending top-notch climate and seismic science, novel risk structuring techniques and patient risk capital, GP offers first-of-their-kind products and services to address FDRM needs in LMICs.

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and strategic Finance Manager to oversee the financial health of our Group. This role involves bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with all statutory & regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial management to support organizational decision-making.

Requirements of this role

Supporting the finance team and wider business in its financial reporting requirements for the CelsiusPro Group (including CelsiusPro AG (CP) & Global Parametrics companies (GP) and the Natural Disaster Fund UK & Germany (NDF UK and NDF Deutschland)).

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping
  • Prepare and issue invoicing - CP Group
  • Assist with payroll and pension processing
  • Fixed asset management including capitalization and depreciation
  • Manage banking activities across the group and NDF, paying suppliers and chasing debtors
  • Support tax queries and compliance including helping with VAT returns
  • Manage the relationship with our Swiss outsourced accountants
  • Support with preparing, analyzing, and interpreting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Audit, Valuation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Support the business during the CP Group audits and annual valuation for the NDF, liaising with external auditors
  • NDF Portfolio reporting to Mirabella, GP's regulatory host
  • Provide MGA reporting to regulatory hosts
  • Respond to audit and information requests from outsourced accounting teams of the NDF for quarterly and yearly financial statements
  • Support with NDF reporting to third-party capital providers
Planning, Forecasting & Strategy
  • Support with financial projections
  • Support in developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts; provide variance analysis and actionable insights
  • Developing and maintaining internal controls
  • Providing cash flow projections
  • Support with controls, policies & governance
  • Develop financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce risk
  • Ad-hoc financial requirements of the Board and Investors
  • Provide financial reports and analysis to senior management to guide strategic decisions
  • Assist with financial planning related to mergers, acquisitions, or capital projects
Qualifications & Experience
  • Professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA or CIMA essential
  • 3+ years of experience in financial management or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Xero is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
