About The Role

The primary purpose of the Finance Manager role is to produce timely and accurate reporting for the group of companies as well as supporting the Finance Director with the day to day operations of the Finance Function. With operations based in the UK, USA, Sweden and Poland, there is international exposure along with working within the exciting Video Game industry and partners like PlayStation, Xbox and Netflix.

Responsibilities of the role
  • Ensure prompt and accurate month end reporting within the timelines determined by the parent company of the Group.
  • Calculation and review of month end revenue and cost accruals, prepayments and other month end journals.
  • Preparation of month end consolidation model incorporating multiple UK and overseas entities.
  • Liaison with overseas entities to ensure timely completion of month end accounts within the company’s reporting timetable.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations at month end, ensuring all unreconciled items are resolved and accounted for correctly.
  • Monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Assist the Finance Director with weekly and monthly cashflow planning.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly royalty reports for third party game developers.
  • Assist the Finance Director with ad hoc project work.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable including the processing of sales and purchase invoices, creation of purchase orders as well as responding to vendor and customer queries.
  • Ensure that bank reconciliations are up to date and fully reconciled including credit card accounts.
  • Preparation of weekly payment runs and monthly salary payments.
  • Regular interaction with finance providers from the overseas companies (USA, Sweden, Poland, Finland).
  • Quarterly VAT returns for multiple companies.
  • Assist the FD with the implementation of more rigorous and efficient processes and controls.
  • Regular review of costs by department to ensure that spend is tracking in line with budgets and forecasts.
  • Preparation of month end reports and analysis for Department Heads.
  • Assist with the annual audit for all companies.
Candidate requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or finalist.
  • Experience working within a fast growth business environment.
  • Experience working with professionals of all levels.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and hands on with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Flexible – every day is different.
  • Ideally familiar with Xero accounting software.
  • Experience of working with multiple entities and currencies.
  • Experienced in the video games industry or adjacent industry with advance/royalty structure preferable.
