What you'll be doing:

As ourFinance Manager, you won't just manage numbers – you'll be a vital strategic partner, driving financial excellence and providing critical insights across our dynamic Specialist Communications portfolio. Here's how you'll make a difference:

  • Be the Go-To Financial Expert:Serve as the primary financial liaison and trusted advisor for a portfolio of our innovative operating companies, guiding them through complex financial landscapes.
  • Drive Performance & Insight:Dive deep into monthly, quarterly (forecasts), and annual (budget) results, transforming raw data into actionable insights. Your detailed analysis and insightful commentary on P&L and Balance Sheet movements will directly inform management decisions.
  • Ensure Financial Integrity & Compliance:Proactively review all financial reporting from operating companies, swiftly escalating and resolving any issues related to Corporate Responsibility, Client Profitability, Treasury, Tax, and more, ensuring robust financial health.
  • Empower & Support:Provide expert guidance and hands-on support to assigned operating companies, troubleshooting accounting, system, and ad hoc financial queries, fostering their operational efficiency.
  • Uphold Global Standards:Implement and maintain regional control procedures, ensuring full compliance with WPP’s rigorous internal controls framework, safeguarding our financial integrity.
  • Shape Strategic Narratives:Play a key role in crafting compelling quarterly performance presentations for both local operating unit management and our Global Spec Comm leadership team, translating financial data into clear strategic narratives.
  • Uncover Growth Opportunities: Collaborate closely with WPP’s associate reporting lead to meticulously analyse the performance of our associate companies, identifying trends and potential areas for growth.

What you'll need:

We're seeking a driven and meticulous Finance Manager who possesses:

  • ACA Qualification: A fully qualified ACA accountant with at least 1/ 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ready to hit the ground running.
  • Global Finance Expertise:Demonstrated success in a comparable finance role, ideally within a multinational corporate structure. Prior experience with a Big 4 audit firm is a significant plus.
  • Influential Communicator:The ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely, fostering strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at every level.
  • Strategic Problem-Solver:A natural aptitude for analytical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving, turning challenges into opportunities.
  • Tech-Savvy & Proficient:Expert-level command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), leveraging technology to enhance financial processes and reporting.
  • Business Acumen:A sharp commercial mind with the foresight to anticipate trends and contribute to strategic business decisions.
  • Resilience & Agility:The capacity to expertly juggle multiple priorities, maintain composure under pressure, and consistently deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
  • Precision & Accuracy:An unwavering commitment to detail and accuracy, ensuring the integrity of all financial data and reports.
