Job summary

Dynamite Recruitment is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a busy finance team in Havant. The role is initially temporary with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

You will lead financial accounting, reporting and controls, prepare monthly management accounts, manage VAT returns, cashflow forecasting and oversee the finance staff. The position is office-based, full-time, with salary around £50,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Previous Finance Manager or similar senior finance experience.
• Experience with management accounts, reconciliations and VAT.
• External audit and year-end experience.
• Previous experience managing or supervising finance staff.
• Experience with Direct Debit processing (benefits or processes)

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a busy finance team in Havant. This is an initially temporary opportunity, with the potential to become permanent for the right person. Please note that a permanent position is not guaranteed.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll have a broad role across financial accounting, reporting and controls, while also overseeing members of the finance team.
The role You’ll be responsible for:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
• Cashflow forecasting and analysis
• Fixed assets and capital expenditure
• Supporting budgets and business cases
• Leading on external audit and year-end
• Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Managing Direct Debit and BACS processes
• Supporting payroll journals and banking
• Improving finance processes and systems

We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on financial accounting experience, ideally with:

• Previous Finance Manager or similar senior finance experience
• Experience with management accounts, reconciliations and VAT
• External audit and year-end experience
• Previous experience managing or supervising finance staff
• Experience with Direct Debit processing
• Strong Excel and finance systems skills
• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA

You’ll be organised, analytical and confident working to deadlines, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
