Job Summary:

We are looking to recruit a full time Finance Manager to support the Account Manager and wider group finance team, controlling daily and month-end processes, reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger work.

This role is ideal for someone looking to progress from an Accounts Executive, Finance Exec position into a more managerial role. This role will open a rewarding accounting career with a future opportunity for a Senior Management position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document Control

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll coordination.

• Assist and Compile data in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate coding of transactions on Sage.

• Provide cover for transactional staff when needed.

• Reconcile Supplier Invoices against Purchase Orders, Deliver Notes.

Supporting – Credit Controller:

• Support with Processing Customer Invoices and Credits.

• Support with Credit Control, Aged Debt Analysis.

• Supporting the Internal Sales and Purchasing teams dealing with customer and supplier queries.

Banking & Reconciliations:

• Perform daily and monthly bank balance sheet reconciliations.

• Reconcile credit card and e-commerce transactions.

• FACFLOW (NatWest) reconciliations.

Accounts Payable / Receivable Oversight

• Maintain Purchase and Sales ledger accounts

VAT and Compliance:

• Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, controls, and statutory regulations.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and budget tracking.

• Provide financial reports and ad hoc analysis to internal Directors.

Audit & Year-End:

• Support year-end audit activities by preparing schedules and supplying documentation.

• Consult with auditors and respond to audit queries.

Required Skills & Experience:

• AAT Level 4 / ACCA / CIMA qualified.

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant).

• Customs Declarations for Import / Export.

• Competent with Sage accounting software.

• Strong Excel skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in a wholesale environment.

• Knowledge of UK VAT rules and HMRC compliance.

• Exposure to multi-entity or intercompany accounting.

• Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation. VAT, payroll, and intercompany accounts.
