Homerton University Hospital in London seeks a Finance Manager to lead day-to-day financial management for the Soft Services contract, delivering commercial insight to support performance and governance. You will partner with operational teams and the client on a high-value contract generating over £17m revenue per annum.
You will drive budgeting, forecasting, reporting and monthly accounts, ensuring robust financial control, risk identification and opportunities for margin improvement.

Purpose of the role:
Act as Finance Manager for the Soft Services contract at Homerton University Hospital, leading day-to-day financial management for the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust contract and providing clear commercial insight to support financial performance, decision making and contract governance.
To business partner with operational management, service leads and the client on a newly mobilised contract generating over £17m revenue per annum, supporting delivery of the budget, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving improved financial performance.
To support contract performance through financial analysis, costings, ad hoc projects and the identification and negotiation of contract variations.
Act as the finance lead for the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust contract, supporting the Head of Finance, Operational Managers and senior site management team. This will include:
– understands contract mechanisms, commercial drivers and operational performance, using this insight to protect margin, identify risks and opportunities, and support financially sound decisions.
– maintains strong financial discipline through accurate reporting, robust controls, billing integrity, cost control and compliance with contractual requirements.
– uses financial data, variance analysis and modelling to identify trends, diagnose issues and recommend practical actions that improve performance.
– builds effective relationships with operational teams, the Head of Finance, senior site management and client representatives, providing constructive challenge, support and insight.
– communicates financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders, influencing decisions and encouraging accountability for financial and operational performance.
– manages competing deadlines across reporting, forecasting, billing, client meetings and ad hoc analysis while maintaining accuracy, quality and attention to detail.
– remains effective under pressure, responds positively to changing priorities and supports mobilisation, change activity and continuous improvement.
– identifies opportunities to improve finance processes, reduce administrative burden and strengthen the quality of decision support provided to the business.
