Location: Surrey

Type: Permanent

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Per Annum (plus bonus and benefits)

Our client is an established SME business seeking to hire a Finance Manager. The role is suitable for a proven Accountant or Finance Manager who enjoys a varied role managing one report. The business is open to candidates with qualifications or relevant experience (QBE or PQ profile). The current incumbent is leaving at the end of March, so the incoming individual must be available within two weeks or less.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of monthly management accounts package for the Board.
2. Preparation of simple daily, weekly, and monthly financial and management information, including budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
3. Monitor and control company resources to ensure effective utilization, especially regarding payables and receivables.
4. Liaise with accountants for annual filings within the designated timescale.
5. Identify and implement new working practices to enhance the Accounts Department’s effectiveness.
6. Interact with departmental heads and management to ensure adherence to systems, procedures, and deadlines.
7. Assist departmental heads in controlling overheads and focusing on customer/product profitability.
8. Manage sales ledger and reconciliation activities.
9. Handle purchase invoicing and sales receipt bookings.
10. Reconcile suppliers’ accounts.
11. Manage all sales and purchase controls and records, including receipts and payments.
12. Post nominal ledger and month-end journals.
13. Manage payroll and pensions, ensuring wages and taxes are paid correctly.
14. Prepare Companies House returns.
15. Produce quarterly VAT returns.
16. Handle Intrastat declarations when necessary.

A salary of £50,000-£60,000 is offered, along with bonus and benefits.
