Job summary

Isca Recruitment is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Exeter. You will lead a small finance team, manage month-end close, prepare management accounts and deliver timely financial information to stakeholders. ACA/ACCA or equivalent is preferred; VAT and statutory reporting experience essential. Hybrid role with 1–2 days per week at the Exeter Head Office.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent accountancy qualification (preferred).
• Recent experience including month-end and management accounting, preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, producing management information and cost centre reporting.
• Knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes.
• Experience managing VAT returns and wider financial compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across the organisation.
• A proactive, organised and hands-on approach.
• Payroll and pension administration experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Experience within the charity sector would also be welcomed, although this is not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Support ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join a successful and purpose-led organisation based in Exeter on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant seeking a varied and hands-on management role where you will lead a small finance team and play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, compliance and financial control across the organisation.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee a small finance team and be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, whilst supporting the wider organisation with timely and accurate financial information.

Finance Manager - The Role:

• Leading, mentoring and developing a small finance team.

Finance Manager - The Rewards

• Salary of £50,000 - £55,000pa depending on experience and qualifications.
• 37.5 hours per week Mon - Fri
• Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week at the Exeter Head Office.

Finance Manager - The Person

We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent accountancy qualification (preferred)
