Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a well-established organisation specialising in the pressure testing and refilling of high-pressure fire cylinders. This full-time role offers a salary range of £40,000 - £45,000 and benefits.

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading financial management activities, supporting strategic decisions, and driving operational efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the finance team, overseeing performance, training, and workload allocation.
  • Assisting with financial planning related to staffing, capital investment, and process development.
  • Supporting salary reviews and staff development decisions in collaboration with HR and senior management.
  • Producing timely management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and detailed cost reports.
  • Partnering with general and operational management to influence strategic business decisions.
  • Managing forecasting cycles and annual budgets.
  • Delivering ad-hoc reports to improve business insight (e.g., WIP, TAT, margin analysis, product/customer trends).
  • Managing VAT returns and reconciliation.
  • Overseeing ERP and IT financial process improvements, staff training, and automation opportunities.

Candidate requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Financial Accountant, FP&A Manager, or similar role.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a finance leadership position.
  • Experience working with integrated ERP systems.
  • NVQ level 3 or above in accounting or equivalent qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulae, data analysis).
