Overview

Our Clients are seeking a proactive and capable Finance Manager to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller (FC), this role is pivotal in supporting the day-to-day financial operations, managing two finance officers, and helping the business scale. The Finance Manager will deputise for the FC when required and will play a key role in driving improvements in financial processes and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily finance operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all core processes
  • Manage and develop two finance staff (AP/AR or assistant accountants)
  • Own and improve the month-end close process, ensuring delivery within set deadlines
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital, providing regular updates to the FC
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
  • Deputise for the FC during periods of absence or high workload
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and statutory requirements
  • Assist in preparing management reports, board packs, and ad hoc financial analysis
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and system optimisation
  • Contribute to projects related to business scaling, including system changes or acquisitions
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
  • Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Experience in SME or fast-paced finance environments
  • Proven ability to manage and develop team members
  • Strong technical accounting skills and hands-on approach
  • Confident using finance systems (e.g. Xero)
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, able to manage competing deadlines and priorities
  • Comfortable working closely with operations, commercial, and leadership teams
  • Ambition to grow with the business and take on broader responsibilities over time
