Job summary

Liberty Recruitment Group are partnering with a respected charity to recruit a Finance Manager for a hands-on, management-focused role. Based in Chichester, you will oversee daily financial operations for the charity and its trading company while guiding a dedicated finance team.

You will drive reporting, budgeting and compliance, with strong emphasis on controls, VAT/Gift Aid, and strategic financial planning. Salary £50-55k DOE, 27 days holiday + BH, enhanced pension, EAP and more.

Qualifications

• Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE considered.
• Proven experience leading a finance team in a charity or trading entity.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with budgeting, forecasting and controls.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Lead the year-end process and support statutory accounts.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and oversee cashflow across multiple bank accounts.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and support long-term financial planning.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance to senior leaders and budget holders.
• Monitor budgets, identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead VAT reporting and Gift Aid claims, plus other compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and IT-finance liaison.

Liberty Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering exclusively, with a highly regarded charity in the search for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team.

Reporting to a highly knowledgeable and personable Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of both the charity and its trading company, whilst leading a dedicated finance team and providing financial guidance across the wider organisation.

Based in Chichester, this is a full time, permanent position, predominately office based. The salary on offer is £50-55k DOE, with some fantastic benefits including; 27 days holiday + BH, enhanced pension, EAP and more!

You will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, payroll oversight, team leadership, and continuous process improvement.

What you'll be doing:

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts

• Maintain and develop financial controls, policies, and procedures across the organisation
• Lead, motivate, and develop the Finance team, whilst also providing line management support within the IT function

What you will have:

• Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE considered
• Previous experience managing and developing teams
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
• Experience using finance systems within a medium-sized organisation
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and support non-financial stakeholders
• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
