Job summary

COREcruitment Ltd in London is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager for a small-batch coffee roaster serving restaurants, cafés, export and e-commerce. You will run day-to-day finance, report to the Finance Director and lead two juniors.

You will own month-end close, manage cash flow, stock valuation and monthly reporting, collaborate with Commercial and Ops, and drive process improvements across Xero and Shopify in a multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or final stage with relevant experience.
• Experience producing full management accounts and month-end close.
• Strong balance sheet control, accruals and stock accounting knowledge.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and deliver management accounts with commentary and variance analysis.
• Review journals, reconciliations and control accounts to keep the balance sheet clean.
• Manage weekly cash flow forecast, payment runs and working capital.
• Oversee stock valuation and quarterly stock audits.
• Produce monthly sales and margin reporting across channels.
• Partner with Commercial, Operations and Exec on budgets and forecasts.
• Lead external audit and stay on top of VAT, payroll and statutory compliance.
• Coach and develop two finance juniors.
• Improve processes and systems across Xero, Shopify and related platforms.

I'm working with a London-based small-batch coffee roaster that supplies restaurants and cafés across the city, alongside its own cafés, export and e-commerce channels. Ethical sourcing and sustainability sit at the centre of how they trade, and the culture values honesty, ownership and fairness.

They're looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to run the day-to-day finance function, reporting to the Finance Director and leading a team of two.

What you'll do

• Own month-end and deliver management accounts with commentary and variance analysis against budget
• Review journals, reconciliations and control accounts, keeping the balance sheet clean
• Own the weekly cash flow forecast, approve payment runs and manage working capital
• Oversee stock valuation and run quarterly stock audits
• Produce monthly sales and margin reporting across wholesale, cafés, export and e-commerce
• Partner with Commercial, Operations and the Exec team on budgets, forecasts and performance
• Lead the external audit and stay on top of VAT, payroll and statutory compliance
• Coach and develop two finance juniors
• Improve processes and systems across Xero, Shopify and other business related systems.

What you'll bring

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or at final exam stage with strong relevant experience
• Experience running month-end and producing full management accounts
• A solid grasp of balance sheet control, accruals and stock accounting
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
• Strong Excel and working knowledge of Xero
• Confidence presenting numbers to senior leadership
• Background in FMCG, manufacturing, hospitality or multi-site retail is a plus
