The ideal candidate will possess an ACCA/FCCA/ACA or CIMA qualification and have experience in delivering complex management accounts. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. The company offers a competitive salary of up to £90k, complemented by a substantial bonus scheme and clear opportunities for career advancement within a dynamic environment.
City + Capital are currently representing a highly respected and fast-growing real estate finance lender who has retained our services to appoint a knowledgeable and qualified Finance Manager from a strong management accountancy background.
Our client specialises in real estate finance loans that support the needs of property investors and developers, and their finance division is at the heart of the business. The lender has doubled in size consecutively over the past 7 years and is expecting further growth as they look to become the leading player in their field.
The company works with sophisticated HNW investors and institutional partners and is known for market innovation and success. Activity with HNW investors is a core function of the finance team and a key part of the role.
The business invests heavily in its people, providing clear progression routes and maintaining one of the industry’s strongest "promote‑from‑within" cultures, ensuring that employees are empowered to grow and succeed as the company continues its impressive trajectory.
This is a diverse role that will play to your core management accountancy skills, whilst opening opportunity to play a lead role in the management and performance of the company’s HNW investment partners and to support the financial strategy and growth of the department, alongside the FD and FC.
In terms of the management accountancy element, you will take on the duties of a Senior Management Accountant while overseeing the activity and mentorship of the team’s finance assistants, bookkeepers and junior accountants.
You will be the key point of sign‑off, protecting work accuracy and deadlines, for duties such as P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, periodical reporting (M/Q/A) & intercompany accounts.
In addition to oversight of accountancy activity, you will also inherit the department’s investor managers and support the FD in the management of the company’s HNW investment partners, reporting on investment performance, acting as a key point of contact for queries and assisting with aspects such as onboarding and off‑boarding investors.
Pls note that you do not have to have prior experience in this field. All will be trained. A hunger to learn and ambition to expand your skillset is key!
Finally, our client (and especially the finance function) is currently going through an exciting transformation project, driven by tech and streamlining and optimising processes. You will be key to this and will play an integral role in the development of the department and team. This will include being a key face of the finance function across departments, working with other senior managers to support accountancy projects and ensuring a connected approach.
You will also be integral to developing strategies, documents and policies that enhance and protect the prudential position of the business.
The ideal individual for this role will be an experienced accountant that is highly commercial and strategic in approach. You will be a confident mentor and capable of driving activity to achieve important deadlines and standards.
You will be a strong communicator and confident when dealing with senior individuals and the board. You will be highly organised and capable of spinning multiple projects simultaneously.
You will be collaborative in your approach and genuinely passionate to create excellence – as a key player in departmental and broader business expansion and transformation projects.
Our client is ideally looking to pay up to £90k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, which will be relevant to experience and qualifications. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional talent.
Salary will be complemented by access to a favourable bonus scheme which will significantly increase annual earnings year on year.
Most notably, as our client operates a strong and proven promote from within policy and is consistently growing, you may also expect opportunities to propel career standing and salary forward within, as excellent performance is delivered. The finance department is at the heart of business activity, and the hierarchy is expected to grow.
As this is a highly collaborative role within and across departments, you will be based in our client’s fantastic Central London offices.
Due to the progression potential and scope of this opportunity, I don’t expect this role to be available for long!
Therefore, if you feel you are interested and qualified, we look forward to your application ASAP and will respond as soon as possible.
Kind Regards,
The City + Capital Team
