Job summary

Morgan Hunt is assisting an Edinburgh-based luxury retail business in finding a temporary Finance Manager to manage monthly accounts and financial reporting. The role is a full-time, on-site position on a temporary contract, offering exposure across commercial operations and close work with the Head of Finance.

Ideal candidates will have strong management accounting, budgeting experience, and solid Excel/ERP capabilities.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified-by-experience candidates will be considered.
• Strong management accounting and budgeting experience.
• Confident Excel and financial systems skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Stock accounting/reconciliation experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Producing monthly management accounts.
• Preparing quarterly financial reports and variance analysis.
• Supporting cashflow monitoring and reporting.
• Overseeing sales and purchase ledgers alongside the Finance Assistant.
• Managing stock reconciliations and the fixed asset register.
• Supporting year-end accounts and external audit.
• Assisting with VAT returns, payroll and annual budgeting.
• Providing financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Maintaining strong financial controls and improving finance processes.

Temporary Finance Manager

Temporary contract
Up to £39.41 per hour depending on level of experience
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Finance Manager to join a prestigious, long-established Edinburgh business operating within the luxury retail sector. The organisation has a strong heritage and has seen significant investment in recent years, making this a great time to join the business as it continues its next phase of growth. This is a broad, hands-on position working closely with the Head of Finance, with plenty of exposure across the wider business and its commercial operations.

Key responsibilities will include:
