Beyond Talent Solutions Ltd is supporting an established not-for-profit organisation in appointing a Part-Time Finance Manager. You will lead the day-to-day finance function, oversee one team member and external providers, combining hands-on work with strategic financial planning.

You will work with senior leadership to shape financial processes, budgets, and long-term planning, balancing commercial activity with grant funding.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or strong QBE background.
• Experience operating in a standalone or small-team finance function.
• Confident producing and presenting management information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management - able to build trust quickly.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for financial management, reporting, and control.
• Production of monthly management accounts and budgets/reforecasts.
• Rolling cashflow forecasts and financial planning.
• Preparing financial reports for senior leadership, trustees and external stakeholders.
• Supporting annual reporting requirements including charity/statutory submissions.
• Ownership of tax-related matters (VAT, Gift Aid where applicable).
• Monitoring restricted vs unrestricted funding and balance sheet integrity.
• Business partnering with internal teams to support performance, pricing, and cost management.
• Developing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
• Supporting longer-term business planning and sustainability.
• Governance and reporting to Board and stakeholders with insight to support decision-making.

This is a genuinely interesting role in a purpose-driven environment, with a mix of commercial activity and grant-funded income. The organisation is going through a period of growth and development, with strong external stakeholder engagement and increasing focus on robust financial reporting and planning. You’ll be working closely with senior leadership, taking ownership of the finance function, and helping shape financial processes moving forward.

The Role

You’ll lead the day-to-day finance function, overseeing one team member and external providers (payroll, HR, etc.). This is a hands-on role but with a strong strategic element - ideal for someone who can balance doing the detail with stepping back to support wider organisational decisions.

• Managing relationships with external providers (payroll, HR, accountants)

• Supporting longer-term business planning and sustainability
• Governance and reporting to Board and various stakeholders with commentary and insight to support decision making

About You

• Qualified accountant or strong QBE background
• Experience operating in a standalone or small-team finance function
• Confident producing and presenting management information to non-finance stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management - able to build trust quickly
• Comfortable working in a mixed income model (commercial + grant funding ideal, not essential)
• Hands-on, adaptable, and happy working in a collaborative environment
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
• Able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery
