Job summary

A leading finance recruitment company is seeking an experienced Finance Manager in Bristol to lead a small finance team. This role involves managing day-to-day accounts operations, ensuring VAT compliance, and mentoring junior staff. Ideal candidates will have strong construction industry experience, VAT knowledge, and proficiency in accounting software, along with leadership capabilities. The position offers a salary range of £45,000-£55,000 and is permanent.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within construction is highly desirable.
• Strong VAT/CIS knowledge is required.
• Experience supervising junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage AP/AR functions and oversee payment runs.
• Supervise two junior finance staff.
• Ensure VAT compliance, including CIS and reverse charge.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support payroll processing.
• Handle scheduled payments (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax).
• Assist with month-end close and external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records and improve processes.
