Job Description
- Lead and manage the accounting and finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements to support strategic decision-making.
- Managing incoming & outgoing payments.
- Foreign exchange - booking live options, managing draw downs etc.
- Purchase ledger management for both divisions
- Bank reconciliations
- Credit card reconciliations
- Payroll & Expenses
- Quarterly management accounts
- VAT return and Year-end requirements
- Trader overhead and profit calculation
- Year-end verification & reports for multiple divisions
- Preparation of corporation tax computations.
- Preparation of personal tax returns for directors.
- Managing all aspects of the administration team.
- ·Reporting to the board of directors.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain cash flow efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business growth.
- Perform variance analysis to monitor and improve financial performance.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness in the finance team.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Manager should have:
- A strong background in accounting or finance, ideally within the retail industry.
- Ideally have Professional qualifications in accountancy (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or be studying for this
- Experience in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
- Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Proven ability to manage a team and collaborate across departments.
