• Proficiency with Sage Line 50 and BI systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day finance operations and transactions
• Lead ledger management and cash flow monitoring
• Handle accounts payable and monthly management accounts
• Prepare management accounts and sales analysis reports
• Forecast annual budgets and support board packs
• Manage quarterly UK VAT returns and HMRC queries
• Oversee year-end files and payroll compliance

The business is growing quickly and is looking to hire a hands‑on finance professional to run the day‑to‑day finance operations of the company.

Your new role

• Driving the running of the day‑today finance function: managing all day‑to‑day transactions
• Complete leadership of ledger management and operational cash flow monitoring
• Handling all accounts payable invoices
• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Build, analyse and distribute comprehensive sales analysis reports
• Preparation of management accounts and commercial reporting of sales analysis reports
• Forecasting yearly budgets
• Support the Finance Director put together board packs and financial updates

• Dealing with working out and submitting quarterly UK VAT returns
• Full ownership of dealing with HMRC queries
• Leading the preparation of year‑end financial files
• Maintaining HMRC payroll compliance

What you'll need to succeed

• Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) preferred, Part qualifiedStrong UK VAT Technical KnowledgeMinimum 3 years in an SME background running a complete standalone daily finance function or similar experience within an accounting practice.
• Practical proficiency using Sage Line 50 and exposure to BI systems preferred.
• Strong capabilities using Excel for data extraction and analysisHighly motivated self-starter comfortable working with independence
