Finance Manager - On-site in Bicester - £60,000

Job Opportunity:

Collaborating closely with the Managing Director, this role seeks an experienced finance expert eager for a diverse and impactful position. The ideal candidate will provide accurate and timely financial insights while overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations. This is a dynamic, hands-on opportunity for someone who thrives in a close-knit and highly effective team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Banking, Payroll, and Transaction Oversight: Provide strategic management of banking activities, ensure timely and accurate execution of outsourced payroll processes, and oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions to maintain smooth financial operations.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare accurate and detailed financial statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Regularly review reporting practices to enhance clarity and precision.
  • Process Improvement and Automation: Assess and enhance existing financial controls, processes, and systems. Lead initiatives to drive automation and technological improvements, optimising efficiency across the finance function.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Guide and support a small, experienced Finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Provide mentorship and clear direction to ensure alignment with the organisation's goals.
  • Management Reporting and Analysis: Compile and present the monthly management pack, including key financial metrics, variances, and performance analysis. Offer actionable insights to inform business decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Take charge of budgeting processes, collaborating with stakeholders to develop realistic forecasts and financial plans. Ensure management information is prepared and delivered promptly when requested.
  • Audit and Professional Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and other professional advisors. Ensure that audits and advisory processes are seamless and conducted efficiently.
Skills & Experience Required:

This role is ideal for a proactive, flexible individual who isn't afraid to get involved and tackle challenges head-on. We're seeking someone with:

  • Strong analytical skills and expertise in data manipulation.
  • Qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA, with a background in high-volume transaction and stock movement businesses. QBE Candidates will also be considered.
  • A can-do attitude, excellent organisational skills, and the drive to take ownership of tasks.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing a variety of deadlines.
  • Exceptional people skills to foster collaboration and promote improvements across the business.
  • Keen attention to detail, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Solid experience with financial systems, processes, and reporting, along with the ability to enhance and streamline existing procedures.
