Your new company

Hays Senior Finance is working exclusively with a charitable trust seeking to appoint a new Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This client, rich in heritage and natural beauty, manages residential tenancies, agricultural holdings, and diversified commercial activities. It also supports around 200 local charities annually through grants.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee daily finance operations, prepare financial reports, analyze performance, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will serve as a trusted partner to departments, providing insights to enhance performance.

Key duties:
  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  2. Manage financial transactions including AP, AR, journal entries, and expenses
  3. Assist with budget preparation and implementation
  4. Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow
  5. Process payroll and submissions to HMRC and pension providers
  6. Submit quarterly VAT reports
  7. Improve accounting practices and procedures continuously
  8. Support and guide team members on finance matters
What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
  • Experience from practice or industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles
  • Flexible and proactive work approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in cloud-based financial software (Xero, Dext, Excel)
