Role Profile:

A highly organised Management Accountant to join our finance team. They must have a Can-do & Will-do attitude and be able to demonstrate initiative and are motivated to achieve goals.They will provide essential support to our Finance Director in ensuring that financial recording, reporting, and forecasting procedures are in place and operating effectively

This is a full-time, permanent role. However, if you require some flexibility, we are open to having a chat about different working patterns

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting

  • Preparing & maintaining company accounts including budgets and forecasts to support business planning. Produce timely MI
  • Informing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies to generate shareholder value.
  • Advising on the financial implications of business decisions - both capital and revenue
  • Developing and managing financial systems & policies, and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure, and ensuring expenditure is in line with the budget
  • Company Costs, Risk & Performance Analysis.
  • Negotiating and obtaining finance for major projects
  • Offering professional input on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance and effectively communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
  • Assist in production of Annual budgets

VAT Submissions

  • To prepare and submit corporation tax, VAT and P11D’s, taking specialist advice as necessary, ensuring timely submission.

Operational Management

  • To oversee the end-to-end finance operations and manage the account assistant.
  • Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue generation.
  • Conduct appraisals, undertake skills assessments and provide coaching support.
  • Provide back-office services such as accounts payable, collection and payroll.

Risk Management

  • Develop policies and procedures that assist with risk management and financial controls.

Skills and Experience:

Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree level in Accounting and Finance, or similar
  • Studying towards qualification or part qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Minimum 3 years relevant professional experience in financial services preferred

Skills and Knowledge

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in Intelliflo preferred
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Sage
  • Experience of implementing systems and control procedures
  • Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyse financial data.
  • Account preparation (Statutory & Management Accounts)
  • Pension auto-enrolment
