Overview

Treasury Settlement Officer (Energy Sector) — Central London. Permanent, office-based with 4 days per month WFH allowance. Report to: Deputy Finance Manager. Salary: Highly competitive depending on experience. Languages: Fluent Mandarin and English.

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the essential requirements described below.

Responsibilities
  • This role is responsible for daily preparation and journal booking of treasury function for Treasury in Finance department.
  • Work alongside/in conjunction with other team members and reporting to the Treasury Team Leader to develop the Treasury Team within Finance Department and to ensure all treasury duties are performed in a timely, accurate and safe manner.
  • Daily bank reconciliation & SAP booking of all payments, receivables, loans, discounting and any other cash movements independently based on proper supporting documents.
  • Produce all company payment documents and bank notices in SAP.
  • Payment check procedure: ensure compliant SSI records, correct bank details, and no duplicate payments.
  • Record daily FX transactions and update FX sheet and produce payment documents accordingly.
  • Record daily margin call movement, produce payment documents accordingly.
  • Monitor inward/outward payments/receipts with banks, ensure daily closing balance aligns with policy.
  • Monthly bank statement reconciliation and cross-check of month-end SAP cash balance against bank statement; investigate variances and report to line manager if errors found.
  • Conduct ad hoc monthly treasury analysis and other related duties as reasonably assigned.
  • Back-up for the role of Treasury Officer and perform quarterly SOX testing, daily HQ bank loan and margin call reports, and HQ bank account opening/closing requests.
  • Handle payment issues with banks, counterparties, and internal departments; follow up on other receivable procedures to address non-receipt of freight and other receivables.
  • Use TMS application as part of daily duties.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree level education or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal Mandarin and English.
  • Accounting professional qualification desirable (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Relevant Treasury / Settlement / Finance experience preferred; graduates with strong academic background may be considered.
  • Familiar with SAP accounting systems (training will be provided) and Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure; good teamwork and attention to detail.
