Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for finance to start their career in management accounting. As a Graduate Management Accountant, you will assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis for Hollywood Bowl's UK operations, as well as provide support with the financials for our Canadian business. This role is based in Hemel Hempstead and offers support toward completing your accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA). It is a great opportunity to develop in a fast-paced environment, with the chance to contribute to the financial success of an expanding business.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts for both UK and Canadian entities, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support with budgeting for both regions, working with local teams to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Perform variance analysis, investigate discrepancies between actual performance and budget, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Support month-end processes, including posting journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Assist in the year-end and half-year external audit process.
  • Provide finance support to the centres and management teams, including production of ad hoc analysis as required.
Person Specification
  • Recent graduate with a strong degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management or a related field.
  • Strong interest in management accounting.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and Microsoft Excel.
  • An eagerness to learn new accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues in the UK and Canada.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
