Job summary

We Do Group in Gillingham is looking for a Graduate Finance Assistant to join the busy finance team. You’ll receive full training across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, reconciliations, and month-end processes to build a strong foundation in accounting.

You’ll work with experienced finance professionals, supporting daily tasks and gradually taking ownership of finance activities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.
• Alternatively, studying AAT, ACCA or CIMA for first finance opportunity.
• Strong numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Good Excel skills and confidence using MS Office.
• Positive attitude with a genuine desire to build a career in finance.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Previous office, administration, retail or customer service experience would be advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Process customer receipts, refunds, remittances and cash allocations accurately.
• Assist with customer account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Support the investigation of payment discrepancies and account queries.
• Help maintain the Accounts Receivable ledger, ensuring customer accounts remain accurate.
• Assist with month-end reconciliations and finance reporting.
• Support the wider Accounts Payable team during busy periods.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve finance queries.
• Assist with general finance administration and ad-hoc projects.
• Contribute to process improvements and support the wider finance team where required.

The Role
