SAP S/4 HANA Finance Enterprise Architect

The role of the SAP S/4 HANA Finance Enterprise Architect is to develop the UK Firm’s technology strategy for the Finance and Engagement Management domain and translate this into a roadmap that determines our investment priorities and transformation portfolio. The technology strategy should promote a seamless, end-to-end customer and employee experience by enabling efficient creation and modification of effective, reusable technology components. It should emphasize modern, Cloud-based technologies, support typical Finance use cases, challenge the business strategy based on emerging and future technology trends, and establish a catalog for reusing new components while targeting legacy application decommissioning. The role also involves executing and governing the strategy by assisting solution architects and projects to design solutions that are fit for purpose and conform to standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain core knowledge of Finance and Engagement Management (FEM) platforms, broader technology trends, and the KPMG technology ecosystem.
• Build FEM roadmaps and solutions; govern relevant technology choices within the Firm.
• Cover other business and/or technology domains as needed.

Core Knowledge

• Maintain high-level technical knowledge of current, emerging, and future technology trends and their business impact.
• Develop and maintain expertise in KPMG’s technology ecosystem, including main applications and technologies interacting with FEM.
• Collaborate with Capability CTOs, SMEs, and project teams to analyze and translate business requirements into feasible technical solutions.

Application Portfolio Management

• Manage and maintain the application inventory for assigned domains.
• Work with stakeholders to categorize applications and manage their lifecycle in the roadmap.
• Consolidate or decommission redundant applications for efficiency and cost savings.

Roadmaps & Solutions

• Build and maintain FEM technology roadmap and architecture, ensuring alignment with strategy and coherence across domains.
• Work with teams to ensure data completeness in EA tooling and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Ensure solution designs are fit for purpose, standards-compliant, and leverage reusable components.
• Contribute to FEM technology selection and influence stakeholder adoption of solutions.
• Support design and implementation of operating models for FEM deployment.
• Escalate risks and dependencies to ensure successful strategy delivery.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in technology assurance processes, enforce standards, and develop reference models.
• Decommission legacy technologies to reduce technical debt.
• Support enterprise architecture tools to govern technology initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Essential (FEM): Expert knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Finance, SAP Concur, SAP Professional Services, SAP Treasury Platform, SAP Financial Compliance Management, SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud; understanding of Finance and Professional Services engagement processes; experience in Solution Architecture; knowledge of EA governance and technical debt management.
• Essential (Other): Experience with Agile SDLC, EA modelling tools, business analysis, and project management; excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to work with ambiguity.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Business Architecture, modelling languages like UML, ArchiMate, BPMN; experience leading offshore teams; understanding of GDPR and ISO 27001; ITIL and TOGAF certifications; a bachelor’s degree.
