The Client

Harmonic are working exclusively with an ambitious consumer brand entering an exciting new chapter. With a reputation for quality and a values-driven approach to growth, the business has built strong traction across multiple sales channels and is fast becoming a standout in its space. They’ve proven product-market fit and now have a clear plan in place to scale operations, strengthen commercial discipline, and deepen their connection with a growing, loyal customer base.

Founder-led and investor-backed, the company combines entrepreneurial pace with a genuine sense of care—for the product, the team, and the wider community. With momentum building, they’re now looking to invest in senior leadership to help take the business from a well-loved challenger to a household name.

The Role

This Finance Director position will be a key force in driving the next stage of the company’s evolution. Sitting at the leadership table and reporting directly to the founder, the role goes far beyond traditional finance—it’s about shaping strategy, improving systems, and creating the structure needed to support rapid but sustainable growth.

You’ll lead a small team across Finance, Ops, People and Legal, and work closely with commercial heads to embed stronger forecasting, cash control, and business planning. You’ll also be central in evolving reporting, building investor confidence, and supporting operational improvements across a complex, multi-channel model. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially-minded finance leader who wants to roll up their sleeves, shape a brand’s trajectory, and build something meaningful from the inside.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Founder to shape strategy and drive key business decisions
• Lead the end-to-end budgeting process and oversee financial planning cycles
• Build dynamic commercial models to support growth and scenario planning
• Design clear, actionable KPIs to track performance and guide the team
• Take full ownership of cash flow, forecasting and working capital
• Identify margin opportunities and optimise cost structures across teams
• Collaborate with Ops and Commercial to reduce spend and improve supplier terms
• Streamline internal processes across all channels to improve efficiency
• Oversee systems and tools, recommending improvements to support scale
• Ensure compliance across financial, legal and regulatory frameworks
• Maintain strong internal controls and mitigate operational risk
• Deliver accurate, timely reporting for both internal teams and external stakeholders
• Manage and mentor a cross-functional team
• Foster a high-performance culture grounded in trust, ownership and momentum
• Act as a key voice in leadership, helping the business stay focused as it grows

What we need to see (required):

• Senior finance leadership experience
• Strong commercial finance skillset, including cash flow management and strategic modelling
• Proven track record scaling an SME in the consumer space
• Operational understanding across supply chain, fulfilment or logistics

What we'd like to see (preferred):

• Experience in FMCG, food & beve or DTC brands
• Familiarity working with institutional investors or private equity stakeholders
• Track record in systems optimisation or implementation

Start Date: Flexible

Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
