PLG is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Finance Director to join our team in Northern Europe. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing and managing all financial operations across the region, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international financial standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives across Northern Europe.
- Oversee and manage all regional financial operations, including accounting, payroll, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with country-specific and EU regulations.
- Lead regional cash flow and working capital management to support business operations and expansion.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial planning, including regional M&A activity, due diligence, and capital structuring.
- Conduct financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis to assess investments, performance, and cost optimization.
- Support the integration of newly acquired entities within the region, building scalable and compliant financial infrastructure.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to internal and external stakeholders, adhering to international best practices.
- Lead risk management activities, including monitoring foreign exchange exposure, credit risk, and regulatory changes.
Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience as Finance Director or senior finance executive, with at least 5 years in a multinational or regional role.
- Demonstrated experience working in the Northern European market (e.g., Germany, Netherlands, Nordics, etc.) with a strong understanding of cross-border financial practices.
- Proven background in the services sector.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools.
- Deep expertise in M&A processes, including financial due diligence, valuation, and post-acquisition integration.
- Strong strategic planning capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of regional and international tax, audit, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing treasury functions, risk mitigation strategies, and financial controls.
- Proven track record in optimizing financial systems and operational processes, including the use of short-term financing tools such as factoring and lease financing.
- Fluency in English is mandatory. Fluency in at least one additional Northern European language (e.g., German, Dutch, or a Nordic language) is strongly preferred.
