Job Description:

Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a growing PE-Backed B2B consultancy to appoint a Finance Director to support the CFO in preparing the business for a forthcoming sale. This is a key role for a commercially aware finance professional with strong transaction experience who can bring structure, focus, and hands-on support to the deal process.

As the business continues to scale, the Finance Director will work closely with the CFO to ensure all aspects of the business are aligned and ready for market. This includes preparing robust financial materials, ensuring the integrity of reporting, building and maintaining the data room, and managing requests throughout the diligence process. The role will also serve as a key liaison across departments, helping coordinate and consolidate inputs to meet the requirements of investors, advisors, and potential buyers.

The ideal candidate will bring solid deal or transaction services experience and the capacity to take ownership of critical workstreams, while remaining collaborative and aligned with the CFO and leadership team.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA), ideally chartered
  • Experience supporting or leading financial preparation for sale processes
  • A strong understanding of sale processes, due diligence, and investor reporting requirements
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage complex data sets and draw out key commercial insights
  • Able to build trust quickly, work cross-functionally, and communicate clearly with all stakeholders
  • Comfortable interfacing across departments to gather and coordinate key financial inputs
  • Practical, hands-on, and able to provide bandwidth to support the CFO through the transaction process
