Finance Director (1st hire)– Seed stage eCommerce

100% office based (Slough, West London)

Talentedge is proud to partner with an early-stage, rapidly scaling eCommerce startup that is already generating sales of over £400k per month, having started trading within the last 18 months. Recently securing significant Seed investment from a well-known VC, this is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company.

As the Finance Director (the first finance hire), you will work closely with the passionate & ambitious Co-Founders to scale the business internationally.

You will excel in this role if you are a strong coder, a strategic and commercially focused accountant, passionate about consumer products, and enthusiastic about startups!

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing scalable processes, controls, and systems, leveraging technology for automation
• Managing monthly management and annual statutory reporting
• Setting strategic, commercial, and financial objectives for the business
• Partnering cross-functionally, especially with Product, Data, and GTM teams
• Collaborating with the founding team on international expansion

Profile requirements:

• ACA qualified with a strong academic background (preferably a STEM degree from a top university)
• Experience with software engineering or coding
• Experience in high-growth D2C, eCommerce, or FMCG businesses that have scaled rapidly
• Strong analytical and data visualization skills, with advanced Excel proficiency
• Exposure to Xero and related ecosystem apps
