Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Director to join our team within Vistry South East, at our office in Caterham, Surrey. As our Finance Director, you will be responsible for the ownership of all financial planning, analysis, control, and reporting for the region, working alongside other department heads and directors to ensure the objectives contained within the region’s budgets and forecasts are met in a cost-effective manner.

  • Act as a commercial partner to the Managing Director and Divisional Finance Director, supporting management and leadership of the region
  • Support appraisal of proposals and opportunities, ensuring awareness of key financial matters
  • Contribute to investment appraisals for land purchases, assessing risks and viability
  • Manage specific cost issues and work with regional teams to limit financial impact
  • Oversee monthly management accounts and financial analysis
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including reviews with regional directors
  • Monitor regional performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Manage cash flows, reporting inflows and outflows weekly, ensuring timely debt recovery
  • Develop and implement strategies for financial control and process improvements
  • Project manage strategic reviews of the regional three-year plan
  • Monitor land viability post-acquisition and report on changes
  • Prepare weekly profit outlooks based on operational data
  • Control overheads and authorize regional orders and invoices
  • Provide leadership and motivation within the department
  • Participate in regional management and board meetings, advising on financial issues
  • Contribute to regional expansion and profitability goals
  • Manage JV relationships, agreements, and commitments, ensuring governance and compliance
  • Engage with divisional and group finance teams for alignment and reporting
