Job description
Finance Director

Location: Nottinghamshire

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 Car Benefits

If you're a Finance Director who enjoys getting under the skin of a business, driving real operational change and leading from the front, this opportunity offers exactly that.

You'll join a well-backed, growing manufacturing group near Mansfield, operating across multiple divisions including industrial and international markets. With a turnover of around £30m and ambitious plans for continued growth, this is a business investing in its people, systems and future, and finance sits firmly at the centre of it.

Working closely with an engaged Managing Director and shareholders with a strong financial background, you'll take control of the core finance function, bringing pace, clarity and leadership where it's most needed. This is a visible, hands‑on role where you can make an immediate impact, improving reporting, shaping a capable team and helping to steer performance at a strategic level.

The Opportunity

As Finance Director, you will take full ownership of the finance function and play a key role in strengthening and modernising financial management across the group.

  • Deliver accurate, timely management accounts, forecasts and margin analysis to the MD and shareholders.
  • Restructure, manage and develop a five‑person finance team, building capability and accountability.
  • Manage cash flow, controls and compliance in line with shareholder expectations.
  • Provide clear, commercial insight that supports operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Focus on what truly matters, ensuring key financial deliverables are met and that finance drives business performance, not just reports on it.

This is an opportunity for a Finance Director who wants to take ownership of a capable team, bring focus and discipline to the finance function, and help drive performance across a growing, multi‑division business.

About You
  • Fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA.
  • Proven experience at Finance Director or senior leadership level within manufacturing or a closely related industrial environment.
  • Track record of leading finance in an SME setting, ideally involving multi‑entity or international operations.
  • Confident in delivering timely management information and ensuring robust financial control.
  • Experienced in team leadership, with the confidence to restructure and develop capability where needed.
  • Hands‑on, commercially sharp and focused on the big picture rather than getting lost in the detail.
What’s on Offer
  • £80,000 - £100,000 salary depending on experience.
  • Company car and additional benefits.
  • A visible, influential role within a forward‑thinking manufacturing group.
  • On‑site position near Mansfield, with flexibility for occasional remote work.
