Right Pear in Newport is seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function and shape the commercial direction of the business. You will partner with the Directors and senior management to drive value through insights, planning and robust reporting.

With an ambitious leadership team and continued plans for growth, the business is looking to strengthen its capabilities with the appointment of a commercially-minded Finance Director.
This is a broad Finance Director position, taking overall responsibility for the finance function while playing an active role in the wider commercial direction of the business.
Working closely with the Directors and senior management team, you’ll act as a trusted adviser to provide insight, support and constructive challenge to help drive better commercial and operational decision-making.
Alongside leading a lean finance team, you’ll take ownership of banking / debt facilities relationships financial planning, forecasting, cash flow and management reporting, while ensuring finance remains closely aligned with the strategic ambitions of the business.
We’re looking for an FD who wants to understand the wider business, genuinely engage with operations and people, and directly influence future direction and decision making.
We’re looking for a qualified accountant with experience operating in a senior finance leadership position. Existing "number one" experience is preferred, but we're also open to a first-step for the right candidate.
More importantly, you need to be commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable operating as a business partner to senior leadership.
You’ll be someone who can see beyond the numbers able to translate financial information into meaningful commercial insight, challenge where appropriate, and help the business make better decisions.
Previous experience developing and leading high-performing finance teams will also be important.
Experience within the Construction / Infrastructure markets is preferred, but not an essential prerequisite.
