Job description

Job Description

Join us on our mission to make the world a better place...

Are you a senior finance leader looking to bring your skills to a forward-thinking, sustainability-driven business? At Pure DC, we're seeking a Finance Director to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our finance function as we continue to build sustainable digital infrastructure around the world.

About Us

We are an innovation-led digital infrastructure organisation of experts in intelligent design, engineering, security, science, and sustainability. Headquartered in London, with over 200MW of IT capacity live or under development, we develop and operate sustainable data centres for some of the world's biggest tech companies across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

We believe in data centres for good - driving positive environmental and social impact by creating jobs, supporting local communities, and restoring natural ecosystems.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-impact, strategic leadership role. As Finance Director, you'll act as a key business partner and second-in-command to the CFO, leading core financial operations, planning and analysis, and compliance activities. You'll drive process improvement and build strong stakeholder relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead financial planning, analysis and accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely reporting.
  2. Drive continuous improvement in finance systems, processes and outputs to enable scale and efficiency.
  3. Oversee FP&A, general ledger integrity, and transaction compliance including AP and VAT/WHT reporting.
  4. Own the statutory audit and annual reporting process, including technical accounting across leases, revenue and complex instruments.
  5. Deliver strategic financial insight to asset management and investment functions to support commercial decisions.
  6. Manage cash forecasting, liquidity planning, bank compliance, and investor funding requirements.
  7. Lead a high-performing finance team including the Head of FP&A and Financial Controller.

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  1. A qualified accountant (FCA, CA or equivalent) with strong technical skills and commercial acumen.
  2. Experienced in large assets/infrastructure finance, including both operations and construction.
  3. A confident communicator and influencer who brings gravitas to senior discussions.
  4. Adept at financial systems improvement and delivering value through data-led insights.
  5. Experienced in FP&A, compliance, audit, and working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  6. Comfortable managing multi-jurisdictional activity and engaging with banks, investors, and ELT stakeholders.
  7. Experience in private equity, Big 4, and/or professional services, as well as familiarity with a small number of blue-chip customers, is desirable.

What's in It for You?

  1. A competitive salary, plus a generous holiday allowance (increasing with service), including your birthday off.
  2. Private Medical Insurance for you and your family.
  3. Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme and 3x Life Insurance cover.
  4. Opportunities for personal and professional development.
  5. A supportive, inclusive culture that prioritises mental and physical wellbeing.
  6. The chance to contribute to a company building sustainable infrastructure that genuinely makes a difference.

Pure DC thrives on diversity. We're committed to inclusion and belonging, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you don't tick every box, we'd still love to hear from you. Let us know if you require any adjustments during the recruitment process - we'll do our best to accommodate.
