Location: Hybrid - Cambridge, UK (occasional travel to London)

We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Director to join an innovative and fast-growing biotechnology company. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the finance function at a pivotal stage, as the company progresses towards clinical trials.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, the Finance Director will be responsible for:

1. Leading and developing the finance team
2. Managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
3. Preparing financial reports for senior leadership, the Board, and investors
4. Ensuring compliance with UK and US financial regulations
5. Overseeing payroll, expenses, supplier payments, and financial systems
6. Administering share option schemes and ensuring IFRS2 compliance
7. Supporting fundraising activities, including equity and debt financing
8. Strengthening financial controls, policies, and risk management processes

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

1. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification
2. Experience in a Series A/B/C stage biotechnology company (clinical stage preferred)
3. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
4. Expertise in financial reporting, risk management, and compliance
5. A hands-on, proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
