Job summary

Karibu Community Homes, based in London, is seeking a Finance Director to guide strategic finance and IT functions, ensuring robust governance and strong performance. The role involves acting as adviser to the Board and overseeing statutory accounts, audit and regulatory returns.

The successful candidate will lead long-term financial planning, treasury management and risk oversight while championing value for money and efficiency. Hybrid working is offered with a London office base.

Qualifications

Job Description

• Provide strategic leadership across Karibu's finance and IT functions, ensuring strong financial performance, robust governance and the resources needed to deliver the organisation's objectives.
• Act as a trusted adviser to the Board and Executive Team, building strong relationships and providing strategic insight to support effective decision making.
• Oversee the production of the annual accounts, regulatory returns and external audit process, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting and treasury management, ensuring Karibu maintains a sustainable financial position and capacity for future investment.
• Provide strategic oversight of IT and digital transformation, ensuring technology supports excellent services, operational efficiency and organisational growth.
• Lead the organisation's approach to risk management and value for money, embedding a culture of accountability and efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

• Qualified accountant with a successful track record in senior leadership roles in the social housing sector or similar.
• Strong experience of financial strategy, treasury management and regulatory compliance.
• Comfortable operating at board and executive level, with the ability to influence, challenge and build credibility with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
• A collaborative and inspiring leader with strong interpersonal skills, an appreciation of the opportunities and challenges that are facing the social housing sector.
