Quest Search & Selection are currently recruiting for aFinance Director . This position will oversee the entire finance function, ensuring financial controls, operational effectiveness, and strategic financial leadership.

This role carries full responsibility for Commercial Finance, Treasury, Statutory Compliance, Tax, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Cash Office operations, and maintaining Balance Sheet integrity.

This well-established retail group, is operating more than 20 + stores and real estate commercial property dedicated to providing exceptional customer experiences & future CAPEX expenditure.

Please note that this role will most certainly requires relocation, from the location mentioned. This role is based in a remote part of the British Isles, so only apply if relocation is a consideration.

The roles & responsibilities of this Finance Director role:

• Spearhead the creation and implementation of financial strategies that drive business growth and enhance brand performance.
• Collaborate closely with the COO and retail leadership to shape commercial strategy and deliver profitable outcomes.
• Lead business planning, financial modelling, and long-term budgeting aligned with overarching group goals.
• Manage statutory and tax processes to ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Direct annual budgeting and rolling forecasting cycles in partnership with operational and central functions.
• Oversee treasury functions, payment systems, and receivables processes, ensuring effective cash controls.
• Monitor stock valuation, capital expenditure, and fixed asset management to preserve.

The qualifications of this Finance Director Role:

• That you are operating in a Finance Director or Head of Finance role (depending on turnover of business)
• Ideally having experience in retail setting that has multiple outlets within either food, fashion, General Merchandise or FMCG.
• Experience working with franchises or JV is desirable but not essential
• Have lead teams between 15-20 people via direct reports
• Managed P& L's circa 100-150 million.
• Strong stakeholder experience, reporting to a CFO
• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• In-depth knowledge of commercial finance, retail dynamics, and strategic financial management.
• Experienced in overseeing external audits, legal compliance, tax affairs, and regulatory reporting.
• Proficient in advanced MS Office, with strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities.
