Job Description:

Finance Desk Technology is part of Fixed Income organization within Citi’s Markets Technology. The team works closely with the Citi Global Finance Desk and focuses on Repo trading activity. The suite of Finance Desk applications provides position management, trade capture, electronic trading, market risk processing, and reporting. The environment includes client-server applications developed in Java, Angular, and C#, running on Linux servers and Cloud Containers. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with business stakeholders while contributing to the strategic technology roadmap.

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management role responsible for leading a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology Team. The goal is to drive applications systems analysis, stakeholder management, and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple teams of professionals, oversee personnel duties such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Provide strategic influence, manage resources and budgets, and monitor results.
• Engage with senior stakeholders and technology partners; participate in initiatives focused on Market Risk and Inventory Management.
• Improve DevOps CI/CD pipelines and contribute to strategic architecture.
• Drive the technology roadmap for the finance desk, oversee all development phases, and support applications for business users.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of application development concepts and procedures to resolve issues.
• Ensure adherence to procedures and contribute to standards definition.
• Integrate application development knowledge with overall technology functions to achieve goals.
• Provide judgment based on analysis in complex, dynamic situations, drawing from internal and external sources.
• Negotiate and influence with senior leaders and external parties as needed.
• Assess risks in business decisions, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and promote ethical standards. Supervise activities and create accountability.

Qualifications:

• Experience with Capital markets in Fixed Income and Repo processing.
• Knowledge of Market Risk, eTrading, and Funding.
• Experience with Capital Markets Trade Capture Front to Back flows (preferred).
• Experience working with traders and senior management in both technology and business areas.
• Development experience with Spring Boot/Microservices.
• Knowledge of Relational Databases like Oracle and MSSQL.
• Experience with messaging and caching frameworks such as Kafka and Gemfire/Ignite.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies.
• Experience managing and building global teams.
• Ability to work with distributed teams across time zones.
• Flexible, adaptive, team-oriented.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ownership, strategic drive, and organizational skills.

Education:

• Degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience in a similar role.
