As part of Compass Group UK & Ireland—our parent company and biggest client—we work directly with manufacturers and growers. Our extensive supplier network includes the industry’s most recognised brands alongside trusted regional and local providers. With a team of 200+ procurement professionals, our unrivalled scale and data-driven insights set us apart.

The Role: Finance Data Analyst

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Data Analyst to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial data and processes. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring robust controls are in place and that management information is complete, accurate, and actionable.

You’ll be working with large volumes of data from multiple sources, so previous experience managing and interpreting complex datasets is essential. You’ll also collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support financial reporting, commercial modelling, and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation of reports on current and historical activity, including all month-end and post-month-end financial activities.
  • Provide product-level analysis to investigate discrepancies and support strategic decision-making.
  • Build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Procurement, Sourcing, and Finance teams.
  • Track and report on supplier/manufacturer data, including rebates and pricing.
  • Understand and manage multiple data sources and how they interconnect.
  • Analyse complex commercial rebate and pricing structures, summarising insights for a range of audiences (Finance, Account Management, Suppliers, and Clients).
  • Ensure a clear understanding of our business’s commercial model and how procurement deals are integrated.
  • Take ownership of the accuracy, relevance, and auditing of your own data outputs.
What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage and interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Solid organisational skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Confidence in making informed, data-led decisions.
  • Experience working with databases and manual data feeds; SQL proficiency is advantageous.
  • Exposure to systems such as SQL (Access), SAP, and other finance/data tools.
What’s In It for You?

At Foodbuy, we invest in our people. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Career development via tailored learning programmes and progression pathways.
  • Access to a Digital GP and wider health & wellbeing benefits.
  • Exclusive savings with top retailers and travel companies.
  • Free access to mindfulness, exercise, and wellness sessions.
  • Discount perks extended to friends and family.
