Role overview

12 Month Fixed Term Contract:

The Financial Controls Specialist is a senior role within the DUAL Group Finance team, responsible for implementing a group-wide controls framework and improving finance processes. The role focuses on financial controls and supporting enhancements in non-financial and operational controls.

The successful candidate will collaborate with UK and international subsidiary finance teams, Howden Group Holdings (HGH) Finance, and the HGH Financial Risk and Controls team, bringing experience in developing control environments within complex group structures. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with senior stakeholders.

Role responsibilities
  1. Develop, communicate, and report on controls assurance and reconciliation processes across the DUAL Group.
  2. Enhance the quality and consistency of reconciliation processes.
  3. Share best practices across the organization.
  4. Ensure compliance with deadlines and requirements.
  5. Serve as the key finance contact and support for international subsidiary finance teams.
  6. Understand and implement the financial control framework.
  7. Promote the framework's expectations to stakeholders.
  8. Support local teams with financial control expertise to improve or implement controls.
  9. Assist in remediating control gaps and designing new controls where needed.
  10. International travel may be required.
Key requirements
  • Experience in developing control environments within large international groups.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in complex environments.
  • Motivation to grow with the business.
  • Flexible work location; travel to London office up to three times a week may be necessary.
Desirable experience
  • Experience with formal control environments like Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
  • Insurance market experience.
  • Internal or external audit experience.
Professional Qualifications
  • Qualified member of a recognized accountancy body with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
