Are you a driven, detail-oriented finance professional ready to take ownership of a dynamic finance function? Our client, a well-established local company based in Stamford, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead and develop their finance team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful financial reporting.

Location: Stamford
Hours: 38 hours per week
Type: Full-time or Part time hours would be considered
Office based

As Finance Controller, youll play a critical role in supporting the leadership team with timely financial insights and robust accounting practices. Youll manage everything from daily transactions to strategic financial planning, and be a key driver of continuous improvement across the finance function.

About the Role

As Finance Controller, youll play a critical role in supporting the leadership team with timely financial insights and robust accounting practices. Youll manage everything from daily transactions to strategic financial planning, and be a key driver of continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all finance processes ensuring compliance with accounting standards

• Manage purchase/sales invoices, expenses, credit card entries, and daily banking

• Prepare and present month-end reports including accruals, payroll, VAT returns, and cashflow forecasts

• Provide insightful variance analysis and board-level reporting packs

• Collaborate with external accountants for year-end processes

• Lead on insurance, healthcare, and pension renewals

• Train and manage the finance team

• Attend board and leadership meetings

• Drive ongoing improvements in systems and processes

What We're Looking For

• A reliable and adaptable finance professional with excellent organisational skills

• Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word

• Experience with Xero (desirable)

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, change-driven environment

• Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude

• Able to meet deadlines and prioritise effectively
