Job description

Willis Aviation Services Limited is seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Finance Controller to join our Finance Team!

This is a brand-new opportunity for a Finance Controller to join a fast growing business based at Teesside International Airport. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will take on the ownership of the trial balance and play a central role in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. You will ensure appropriate controls are being followed and work with the Finance Director to deliver month end analysis and insights to support strategic decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the fieldwork for annual audit activities whilst being the first point of contact for banking and cash management.

This is a a growing role with the potential for the role to expand across other UK sites and to develop a team to reflect that.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of the Trial Balance for Willis Aviation Serviced Limited, ensuring a detailed knowledge of the company’s financial position.
• Ensure financial controls are followed and continuously improved.
• Work with the Finance Director to develop monthly reporting packs that give the business the required insight to make business decisions.
• Manage VAT Returns and corporation tax payments.
• Lead the fieldwork for the annual audit process.
• Manage the daily cash position and ensure accurate forecasts are in place for treasury funding.
• Assist in the process of bringing in a new finance system.
• Whilst initially focused on Willis Aviation Serviced Limited, this role is likely to develop to include the Financial Control of other Willis UK entities.

Requirements

• Fully qualified, technical accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 5+ years PQE.
• Experience liaising with external partners including auditors and banks.
• High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Location & Travel

• This role will be based at Teesside Airport with a minimum requirement to be on site 3 days a week.
• Occasional travel to Bridgend, Wales may be required.
