Finance Compliance Manager

Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for compliance and team leadership? We’re looking for a Finance Compliance Manager to join a busy and forward-thinking finance team based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys driving improvements, developing others, and ensuring best practice in financial compliance.

This role would suit a motivated individual with experience in finance or legal services, who enjoys working collaboratively and thrives in a fast-paced environment. If you’re ready to make a real difference in a key compliance role—this could be your next move!

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Leading and coaching a team of three Compliance Analysts
Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and AML regulations
Managing the annual audit process and acting on feedback
Handling client residual balances, developing proactive strategies, and working closely with Fee Earners
Maintaining the COFA breaches log and delivering continuous improvements
Reviewing and improving finance processes and internal controls
Leading internal file audits and supporting financial compliance
Managing the financial aspects of the file closure process
Keeping client bank account records up to date and overseeing bank mandate changes
Closing any legacy accounts efficiently
Supporting the development of financial reports for management
Addressing fee earner queries and collaborating with other departments
Travelling to other office locations as needed

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Experience in financial compliance or legal finance roles
Proven ability to develop and lead a small team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy
The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work well under pressure
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
