Finance Business Systems Analyst - 12 month Contract

Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Applications

Location: London / York - Hybrid working

We are seeking a qualified accountant with expertise in Finance Business Systems and strong Oracle Cloud Solutions knowledge for a 6-month contract. The role involves driving positive change, supporting growth, and shaping the future of our Finance organization, working closely with Finance IT, the wider Finance team, and business units.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain monthly systems activities supporting Finance processes such as Month End Close, Reconciliation, Master Data Management, and communication with Finance teams.
2. Support EPBCS-based Forecast, Budget, and Long Range Plan processes from a systems perspective.
3. Assist with the FCCS group consolidation process.
4. Support working day timetable processes.
5. Perform data cleansing and auditing to ensure data quality.
6. Manage change/ticket requests.
7. Analyze system performance, hierarchies, and processes to improve user experience.
8. Establish best practices and support user training on Oracle Report development and Smartview.
9. Manage Oracle tools in Finance, including form updates, UAT, process development, documentation, report development, and chart of accounts maintenance.
10. Gather and translate user requirements into Oracle Application designs.
11. Enhance performance, processes, and controls across finance applications.
12. Deliver high-quality changes aligned with the finance applications roadmap.
13. Create and maintain documentation for Oracle implementations and support initiatives.
14. Bridge business needs and IT requirements.
15. Support continuous improvement using industry best practices and automation tools.
16. Contribute SME knowledge to wider Hiscox projects.
17. Participate actively as a member of the Group Financial Control team.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience

1. Strong technical knowledge of Oracle Cloud Solutions, especially Fusion ERP (General Ledger, Sub-Ledgers: AP, FA) and EPM modules (Planning, Allocations, Consolidation, Tax, Reconciliation, Data Management).
2. Qualified accountant or relevant experience working within or with a Finance function.
3. Experience with PowerBI for data analysis and reporting.
4. Accounting background is preferable.
5. Understanding of financial processes and accounting principles.
6. Strong communication skills.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong control mindset and experience.
9. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Reporting Relationships / Interactions

1. Reports to the Head of Finance Business Applications.
2. Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Finance, IT, project teams, and external consultants.
