Job summary

RSM is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the Finance Business Partnering function within the National Finance Office. The role can be at Supervisor or Assistant Manager level depending on experience, and focuses on delivering premium finance partnering and reliable financial insight.

You will build strong stakeholder relationships, support budgeting and forecasting, and coach junior colleagues while ensuring robust analysis and actionable recommendations across the business.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, or equivalent accountancy experience.
• Consultancy, business strategy or professional services experience preferred.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into practical insight.
• Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Confident and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive, solution-focused approach with the confidence to ask questions and clarify requirements.
• Willingness to support others, contribute to team success and engage in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support the Finance Business Partner(s) in delivering effective finance partnering.
• Build relationships with stakeholders as a trusted finance contact.
• Assist review of financial performance, explain variances, identify risks/opportunities.
• Communicate financial information clearly to varied audiences.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting with robust assumptions.
• Identify and manage financial risks with professional judgement.
• Supervise junior team members and potentially line-manage.
• Coach and develop less experienced colleagues.
