Finance Business Partner – Technology and Retail FP&A

Location: Leeds

This is a permanent, full-time vacancy that will close in a day at 23:59 BST.

The Role

Salary: up to 80k + 10% bonus

Travel: based in Leeds with travel to Stafford and Manchester

Finance at Cox Automotive Europe

The finance department is part of the Corporate Services function, supporting the business across Europe. Our team maintains financial records, ensures controls and governance, and provides management reporting and analytics to support decision-making. We collaborate with Cox Automotive US to align policies and controls.

The finance team plays a key role in strategic change, partnering with various business units and functions.

Scope of Role:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, with presentations to the SLT.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Lead FP&A to deliver insightful analysis and strategic recommendations, developing financial models to support planning and decision-making.
  • Value Generation: Drive value through strategic financial planning, identifying cost savings, revenue growth, and operational efficiencies.
  • Investment Management: Prepare content for investment decision forums, evaluate business cases, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Governance Structure: Maintain robust governance for financial planning and decision-making, ensuring internal controls and compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in financial processes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Audit and Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, standards, and internal controls, with a focus on resource capitalization.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with senior management and other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic goals.
  • Technology Integration: Utilize financial technology solutions, including ERP systems and analytics tools, to streamline operations and reporting.
  • Data Management: Maintain data governance and security practices to ensure financial data integrity.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks with appropriate strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop KPIs to track financial and operational performance.

Objectives for Role:

  • The Finance Business Partner - Operations will be a key voice in SLT meetings, providing accurate analysis and strategic recommendations to improve financial performance and support strategic objectives.
  • This role focuses on enterprise value creation, driving financial efficiency, and supporting the strategic goals of Cox Automotive Europe and Retail Solutions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Education: Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
  • Experience: At least 10 years in finance operations, with a preference for 5+ years in senior roles. Experience in a technology-driven environment is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in financial analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems (Coda, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics).
    • Strong presentation skills, especially with PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
