This business partnering role is central to the Finance Business Partnering team supporting income. It is a fully commercial role that offers an excellent opportunity to influence decision-making and improve member, customer, and commercial outcomes.

This role provides a great opportunity to be part of a team that offers key stakeholders financial guidance & advice and creates insightful analysis to support and challenge decision-making.

At Nationwide, we promote hybrid working where possible. This approach supports meaningful relationships by bringing colleagues together across the UK while also allowing for home working. We value in-office collaboration for problem-solving, learning, and connection.

For this role, you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part-time, 40% of your working hours, based at either our Swindon or Bournemouth office. Your hiring manager will provide further details if your application is successful. More information about our hybrid working approach can be found here.

We encourage early applications as the vacancy may close sooner if we receive high interest.

What you'll be doing

We seek adaptable individuals eager to make a real impact. You will develop a deep understanding of key business metrics, work closely with the Mortgages leadership team to optimize performance, and produce insights that enable stakeholders to make informed decisions, ultimately driving positive member outcomes. You will also ensure that controls within the Mortgages Finance Business Partnering teams remain effective and consistent.

Your natural curiosity and willingness to challenge existing processes will be essential.

About you

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent, with proven experience
  • Have significant experience in a financial environment
  • Be confident presenting financial information to senior stakeholders, evaluating and challenging business and pricing proposals as needed
  • Possess excellent prioritization skills for your own work and the wider team, working to tight deadlines
  • Have a proven track record of collaborating with non-finance stakeholders to balance customer outcomes and commercial sustainability
  • Have excellent Excel skills, with experience consolidating large data sets into management information

Our customer-first behaviors are fundamental to how we work:

  • Feel what customers feel - Empathize with customers by understanding their needs through feedback and insights, ensuring all decisions prioritize their experience
  • Say it straight - Communicate honestly and clearly, sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions
  • Push for better - Challenge the status quo, aim for continuous improvement, and take responsibility for personal development
  • Get it done - Prioritize impactful actions, be decisive, and deliver excellent customer outcomes

You can strengthen your application by demonstrating how these behaviors resonate with your experience.
