Job description

We are a specialty vaccine company that develops, manufactures, and commercializes prophylactic vaccines for infectious diseases addressing unmet medical needs.

We are recruiting for a maternity cover position as an FP&A Accountant.

This role will support the Financial Controller – Manufacturing and the wider finance team to report and provide insights into the financial and operational performance of our manufacturing activities in Sweden. The role involves monitoring and reporting the progress of key contracts, preparing monthly management accounts, and other financial information to aid decision-making by senior stakeholders. Additionally, the role will contribute to business growth through ad hoc project work.

The role will require travel to our site in Sweden and is on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. We are also open to applications from Solna, with the possibility of commuting to our Livingston Finance Hub monthly.

  • Preparation and analysis of draft management accounts and commentary.
  • Monthly meetings with key budget holders to discuss performance against budget/forecast.
  • Monitoring key customer and supplier contracts, reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
  • Assisting with budget and forecast cycles for manufacturing activities.
  • Processing capital expenditure requests for unbudgeted capital spend.
  • Reporting on key business metrics to foster continuous improvement.
  • Periodic travel to Sweden, as required.
  • Out-of-hours work as needed to meet accounting deadlines.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

Experience

Essential

  • Qualified Accountant with relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in budgeting and reforecasting.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working in or with small and medium enterprises.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
  • Experience with standard costing.
  • Understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Experience collaborating with international colleagues.

Required skills

  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about the industry.
  • High accuracy, numeracy, and consistency.
  • Proactive attitude and adaptability.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Microsoft AX.
