Job description

This is an exciting new position to work for an international professional services company as a Finance Business Partner, working closely with the business to manage project portfolio performance, growth and budgeting/forecasting.

Description

As a Finance Business Partner sat within the UK Finance team, your role will be to work closely with the UK&I business to actively manage the project portfolio performance, growth, budgeting & forecasting.

A critical aspect of the role involves ensuring compliance with IFRS15 accounting policies, whilst providing strategic guidance on establishing and maintaining business models that are efficient, effective, and aligned with compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Commercial Finance team and the operational business to manage business performance, budgeting and forecasting and support the operating management team. Also provide ongoing financial support to Project Managers and Project Controllers.
  • Develop management reporting and analysis to support transparency over the key drivers of UK performance and participate in discussions with the business on how key aspects of performance - growth, profitability and cash generation - can be improved.
  • Prepare concise commentaries and variance analysis on operating financial performance.
  • Carryout commercial finance processes that support the monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close & reporting processes, including working closely with the UK financial accounting team.
  • Ensure adequate quality control measures are taken over all aspects of financial reporting.
  • Support, where required, on the development of price and costing models and strategies to support large and complex project bids to support the UK Head of Commercial Finance.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Finance team to actively manage the UK cost base, including developing options for cost reduction where appropriate and possible.
  • Collaborate with Project Accountants (PAs) and assist with coordination of their monthly project review cycle; also work with PAs to analyse project financial performance to identify challenges and solutions.

Profile

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or someone who is qualified by experience that has worked in a large company environment.
  • IFRS15 experience is essential/ someone who has worked in a project led environment.
  • Experience working as a Finance Business Partner/ Commercial Finance Manager/a similar role where you have experience managing business stakeholder relationships.
  • Major ERP business systems experience.
  • Ability to clearly present quantitative information to all levels of management and effectively interact and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse workforce in multiple countries.
  • Natural demonstration of high emotional intelligence and ability to establish and maintain a highly professional team culture and environment.
