Job summary

Salix is hiring a Finance Business Partner in Manchester for a 6-12 month FTC. The role supports budget holders and delivery teams across Data, Technology and Comms with a combined budget of just under £6m, providing high-quality management reporting and financial insight.

You will work with non-finance stakeholders, challenge assumptions and ensure strong governance while developing forecasts and financial controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified, finalist or part-qualified accountant with relevant experience.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders and provide financial insight.
• Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in grants, loans or public sector is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely monthly management reporting with variance analysis.
• Provide financial advice and challenge to budget holders and delivery teams.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles and explain risks and opportunities.
• Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts and identify risks.
• Prepare cashflow forecasts and financial analysis across programmes.
• Support board reporting with clear commentary and escalate material issues.
• Ensure accruals, prepayments and journals are accurate in the ledger.
• Support audits and maintain strong financial controls and governance.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes and templates.
• Support finance training and improve financial understanding.
