About your team:

At British Gas, our mission is to sell and mend energy solutions.

We’ve powered UK homes and businesses for over 200 years. Now, we’re making the UK greener and more energy-efficient, moving closer to Net Zero with tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers. We aim to help customers reduce their carbon footprint.

We seek a Finance Business Partner to support the Home Solutions (ASHP and Boilers) division. You will drive value through operational teams and manage the operating cost base.

This role offers full P&L exposure to the Home Solutions business and interaction with senior stakeholders across British Gas. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders and understand performance drivers
  • Translate business strategy into financial impacts and communicate effectively
  • Understand revenue, costs, cash flow, and inter-company transactions
  • Support operational expenditure analysis and business case development
  • Provide insights and analysis to improve financial performance
  • Review and report against plans and forecasts, analyzing variances and recommending actions
  • Maintain a live risks and opportunities view, helping mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
  • Conduct bespoke analysis to support decision-making

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recognised accountancy qualification or finalist status
  • Experience in financial analysis and business partnering
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Effective relationship-building skills
  • Motivated by continuous improvement
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Interest in automation and data analysis tools
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Operational risk assessment skills
